Women’s T20 World Cup: India eyeing beating Bangladesh after defeating Australia

Women’s T20 world cup 2020 Ind vs Ban: A confident Indian women cricket team will take on Bangladesh in their second group match in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on Monday after a win against defending champions Australia and aim to continue their winning campaign.

Leg-spinner Poonam Yadav’s magical spell saw India beat Australia by 17 runs in the opening match of the tournament on Friday, but the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side cannot take Bangladesh lightly as they face their rivals in the T20 Asia Cup in 2018 Had to face defeat twice.

If India has to defeat Bangladesh, the role of Shefali Verma and Jemima Rodriguez in the top order will be important. India won three matches and Bangladesh two in the last five matches between these two teams. If India wins on Monday, then it will also reach the knockout in the group of five teams. However, India will have to improve their batting as the batsmen could not perform as expected against Australia and were able to score 132 runs.

Prior to the World Cup, the Indian batsmen were not able to perform regularly and they have not scored big scores since the tri-series. If Poonam had not taken four wickets for 19 runs, then India’s position against Australia would have been fragile.

Harmanpreet and opener Smriti Mandhana, who performed well in the tri-series, could not contribute much in the last match. The team expects big innings from both of them. Deepti Sharma scored 49 off 46 balls against Australia and she will try to maintain her form.
