A petition filed in a civil court in Mathura last week sought to “reclaim” Krishna Janmabhoomi, claiming that Mughal emperor Aurangzeb had destroyed a part of a temple at the site believed to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna. It called for a mosque next to the temple to be removed.
