Ravi Shastri Gives Special Speech & Credits Every Team India Player Post Historic Test Series Win | RVCJS

The Indian cricket team has certainly proved many people wrong by winning the four match test series by 2-1 as majority of the former cricketers were of the opinion that the Indian squad had no chance of attaining victory against Australia because Steve Smith and David Warner were back in the team. The humiliating defeat of India in the first test match at Adelaide further increased their confidence and the fact that the Indian skipper Virat Kohli was not a part of the Indian squad for remaining three matches made them feel that only a miracle could prove them wrong.

However, the Indian team put up a great show in Melbourne and won the test match to level the series by 1-1. When everyone thought India would lose the Sydney test match, the Indian players fought like soldiers and saved the match by ending it in a draw.

Despite the fact that these experts were proved wrong again and again, they were pretty sure that Australia would certainly win at Gabba, Brisbane, because the Aussies had a great record of not losing any test match over there since 1988. The Indian camp had many injuries because of which R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Hanuma Vihari and Jasprit Bumrah were also ruled out of the Brisbane test but the less experienced Indian side showed great determination, grit and courage and breached Gabba by winning the test match by 3 wickets and 18 balls remaining in the innings.

On the last day, the Indian team had to score 324 runs to win the match but they lost the star batsman Rohit Sharma early; however Shubman Gill along with Cheteshwar Pujara stabilized the innings. Gill lost his wicket at 91 being unlucky to miss his century but his knock ensured that India was never much behind the required run rate. Cheteshwar Pujara stood on the crease like a rock despite getting hit on the body at least 10 times and played a solid innings of 56 for which he played 211 balls. The young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant played an important innings of 89 runs not out making sure that his team won the match.

After the great victory, the head coach Ravi Shastri gave a speech in the dressing room at Gabba in which he praised Gill for his superb knock, called Pujara an ultimate warrior and also appreciated Pant for his superb batting. Overall, Ravi Shastri applauded each and every person of the Indian contingent.
