The coronavirus outbreak has turned out be more lethal than it was thought to be as the total number of people infected with the virus all over the world has crossed 2,00,000 while more than 8,000 people have lost their lives. The disease is contagious so it is better for everyone to remain outdoors, travel only if very necessary and don’t forget to take precautions.

Social media is being used as a medium to spread awareness on COVID-19 and one Twitter user who seems to be a fan of former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, decided to use important moments from Dravid’s life for teaching everyone how to save themselves from corona.

He titled the thread as, “How to fight Coronavirus: Lessons from Rahul Dravid”.

In the first tweet, he showed how Rahul Dravid left a ball which was going outside off-stump and captioned it as, “The best way to avoid danger is to keep a distance”.

The coronavirus disease is contagious in nature so maintaining personal hygiene is quite important and washing hands is an integral part of this process. In another tweet, the image showed how good fielder Rahul Dravid was and he captioned it, “It’s important to have a clean and safe pair of hands”.

In one of the tweets, the images used was from the very famous 2001 Kolkata test match which was played against Australia and in this pic, VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid are seen returning to the dressing room after batting for a complete day. The fan shared it with caption, “Don’t Panic. You can overcome the worst of the situations with patience”.

In one tweet, he referred to the marathon innings of 146 which was scored by Rahul Dravid in the 2011 Oval Test that was played against England. The caption read, “Tough times don’t last, tough men do”.

In one of the tweets, Rahul Dravid is seen keeping the gloves despite the fact that he was not an expert wicket-keeper but he did wicket-keeping so that an extra batsman can be played in the team. The Twitter user is talking about work from home option as staying at home is the best choice at the moment. The caption of the tweet read, “Be ready to work from a different place when needed”.

In another tweet, he talked about being strong in decision making by referring to the controversial decision of declaring the innings in Multan test against Pakistan 2004 when the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was just 6 runs away from his double century. He shared it with caption, “Call back your team members from offsite when you think the time is right, without worrying about someone’s personal milestones”.

In the last tweet, the Twitter user asked everyone to teach others once they have the thorough knowledge or when they have become expert. In simple words, he is asking to spread awareness among others. The caption read, “When you have mastered the art, teach others.”

Rahul Dravid is presently serving at the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru, as the Director (Cricket Operations).
