Yuvraj Criticises Team Management For Not Selecting Ambati Rayudu For World Cup 2019 | RVCJS
Yuvraj Singh is undoubtedly one of the most talented cricketers that we have seen playing for the Indian cricket team. His importance can be understood by the fact that ever since he has been excluded from the team, no other player could settle on the number 4 position on which Yuvi used to play.
Yuvraj played his last International match in 2017and he is a retired player now. However, he is quite vocal about the selection policies of the selectors and doesn’t mind slamming them if he feels that something wrong is being done.
Recently, when Yuvi’s friend Harbhajan Singh took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and expressed his annoyance over the fact that the team management is not giving Suryakumar Yadav a chance to play at number 4, Yuvi replied and said that the management doesn’t want a number 4.
Recently, he attended the Aaj Tak Conclave where he was asked about this statement and as per him, he was quite sure that the team management was not looking at him as an option for middle-order but what hurt him more was what happened with Ambati Rayudu.
Yuvraj further said that Rayudu was India’s no. 4 for over a year; he played well in New Zealand and in fact in the last match, he got Man of the Match for his superb knock of 90. After that, the team played against Australia and then they had to play the World Cup.
Yuvi talked about his days when he and Kaif were nurtured by the management for 2-3 years before the World Cup but in World Cup 2019, the team management chose Rishabh Pant who was just 5-6 matches old.
The left hander was quite upset with the fact that Rayudu was dropped and Vijay Shankar was selected and even when Vijay got out of the tournament, still the team management ignored Rayudu and sent Pant which was definitely a bad decision.
What do you think in this regard? Let us know.
